It was one of those days. Ashley goes to a liberal arts college. She got an email in her inbox saying, ?Talks on Woman Issues?. Ashley finds those talks boring but has to go in order to receive the extra credit. So off goes Ashley to the seminar. Later that day, Ashley tells her roomie Rita that she had to attend one of those boring seminars. When asked what was the seminar about, Ashley says, ?some womanly stuff, u know like those abortion, pms, blah blah.?

After 9 pm when the phone is free, Rita tells her fren Sangita, ?Thank God I didn?t attend that abortion seminar.? Sangita remember only the abortion part. Calling home during Dashain, Sangita comments to her parents makes her parents swear and then tells them that Rita had an abortion.

Since its supposed to be a secret, Sangita?s parents can?t wait to tell their neighbors that one Nepali girl in the US had an abortion and goes on to claim that there might be many more. By now the rumor has spread throughout Kathmandu that Nepali girls in USA give birth to babies without getting married. A panic spreads throughout the kingdom, Nepal television covers the issues. People stop sending their daughter abroad to study. A meeting is called at the national level, millions of money that should be spent on the poor people is used to fund the meeting to find the solution. Don?t ask me where the money came from, we seem to have ample money for unnecessary stuff but always seem to run in deficit when the needy needs it. The US media covers the Nepali version only much more distorted. Ashley sees the news and shows it to Rita. They both wonder how it started.

Well .....I heard sum Nepali guy in the US had to spend a whole year in prison, cuz the police misheard him say" Terrorist" in lieu of" Tourist" while he was shooting videos of sum important buildings and stuff.

ALso heard recently, that Santosh Pant while on a tour was detained for sum hours in the airport ; cause-->shooting sum videos again!
.....allowed to go after the officials called back home and verified his identity!
