ramguragain, it doesn't sound like the webcam itself has problem to me. What you need to do, I think, is change the brightness/sharpness/contrast of the webcam. Maybe a little play with it can "fix" the problem. To go to the webcam settings on MSN Messenger: On the MSN (main or sub) window, go to Tools and click Webcam Settings. Here's the screenshot:
