I bought Sony Vaio NW 150 J series laptop from Best Buy and it has problem in wireless connection. I took back and show their so called Geek Squad full of fools , they could not figure out problem so i exchange it to another same Laptop. Big surprise was that this laptop also got problem. and my one friend from Houston also said that they have same problem of wireless connection in same series of laptop I went to Geek Squad again and they blame me for adding google toolbar and yahoo toolbar which make wireless not WORKING!!! Foolest thing I have ever heard my life and they ask me money to remove that toolbar . ha ha so guys better not buy that laptop specially from Worst Best Buy.

Can you clarify, what is your specific problem? I guess, you do get connected but the issue is frequent disconnection (>>t hey blame me for adding google toolbar and yahoo toolbar which make wireless not WORKING!!! )..why don't you go to vaio's website and update your driver. That helped me, hopefully it will help you as well...don't go to geek-squad...they are trained to assemble things ...:)

I think Sony Vaio sucks big time man. I bought CR 220e series couple of year back. I spend $1000 back then. But it wasnt any thing compared to the price. Its processing wasnt that fast as promised. It took long time to start and shut down. The only thing that was good about it was its look. And to my great surprise its motherboard gave up on me after 2 yr when my warranty was already over. I wasnt too rough with that laptop....i always placed it on my study desk. Never carried it around. But still its mother board got fried. I dont know till know how it happened. I took it to the geek squad and after one week they gave me a call and told me that its gonna cost me $700 to fix that piece of shit. What the hell!! I've already spend $1000 to buy it and i'm not gonna spend another $700 to fix it. Maybe it was just my bad luck, i had real bad experience with sony vaio. The moral of the story: If you think you can buy laptop with a over priced tag, get an extended warranty and dont even go for the looks and brand. Further ... if you want real good computer...go for mac. You will never look behind. Trust me.

Yes Unicorn bro , you got the problem. Evertime my wireless is disconnected even for a sec , I have to connect ir again . and my AT&T wireless is very bad. so i have to do that again and again. I will try to get that updates but i will be very thankful to you if you gave me links to those updates. Thanks once again

I have to disagree with Amrican here. I got my system (VGN NW150J) just last week. It seems to be working just fine. The only issues I have is the battery life- it doesn't give up the 4.5 hrs it promised. Other than that, with 4gb RAM and 2.1 GHz Core2Duo processor, this $799 laptop is a steal. Amrican, maybe you should set your wireless security setting to WPA instead of WEP. I haven't had any issues with the wireless thingy so far. Let us know if that helps.

Use this http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/select-system.pl?DIRECTOR=DRIVER to find your model and update the driver.... Otherwise you might have to go with kizzkazz... Good-Luck

Unicorn I checked it yesterday , after you said , there is no updates for Original - SmartWi™ Connection Utility which is wireless driver i guess. If i remove this and reinstall it again wil it work?

Amricane, I wouldn't do that if I were you. However, check your wireless router's manual to see how you can change you connection to WPA. I could help you if it was Netgear. 2nd option: call Sony Support at: 239.768.7669. They'll definitely be able to help you.

Sry couldn't get back to you earlier, so whats the verdict? Here is what I did ..right click on mycomputer>>On Sony electronics Inc Support tab>>Online support>>provided my model number>>and had a chat with a CR He suggested me to install the driver again, well i didn't remove anything ..just did a re-install on top of whatever was there and since then my wireless connection works like a charm :).

Hey Unicorn , thanks brother your idea worked.. now i am surfing net with out any distruption. and I suggest all of you guys DON"T GO TO GEEK SQUAD OF BEST BUY.. WHY 1) they are only called Geek squad but they are GEEDI NABHA squad ,they even didn't figure out simple driver update problem 2) they will ask money for everything , they ask me money to remove toolbar. ha ha 3) they will ask you money to repair simple problem though the laptops, and other object are bought yesterday .
