Murder Most Royal
Saturday 1 October @ 23:10CET

Crown Prince Dipendra of Nepal ? ?Dippy? to his Eton chums ? had a difficult childhood by all accounts. His mother ruled him with a will of iron. Close friend Gautam Rana recalls: ?The crown Prince had very low self-esteem. His mother was always criticising him. She said she had to be strict with him, for one day he would be King. But she was a perfectionist ? she never let him be a child.? His father the King, an old Etonian himself, sent Dippy to the English public school Eton. Sixteen is a difficult age for any boy to be thrown into an alien environment, but Dippy used his karate skills to protect young Will Stonor from the school bullies, and the two were soon firm friends. It was at a drinks party at Stonor?s family home that Dippy was first introduced to Devyani Rana, the daughter of a Nepalese politician and an Indian Maharani, who immediately bewitched the sixth-former. He bombarded her with telephone calls ? to no avail. He knew even then that Devyani?s resistance was the least of his worries.

Devyani did not accept Dippy?s advances at first; but the pair became friends and, slowly, Devyani fell in love. The couple spent all their time together and surrounded themselves by people who told them what they wanted to hear ? that they would be allowed to marry, and that they would one day be King and Queen of Nepal.

In reality, Dippy?s mother had made it clear to her teenage son that he was already betrothed to a well-born Nepalese girl, Supriya Shah.

The conflict between the Queen and her disobedient son was confined to Palace whispers, until June 1st, 2001, when the Nepali Times made Dippy?s private shame public. The Queen, it said, was blocking the Crown Prince?s choice of bride. Dippy?s humiliation and anger festered until, that evening, dressed in military uniform and with weapons from the royal armoury, he burst into a family gathering and shot his father in the head. The attack was no outburst of drunken rage, but a premeditated attack ? the few royals who survived the massacre have since described the way in which Dippy fired at everyone, and then kicked the bodies to make sure they were dead, before shooting himself.

Now, of course, everyone admits that Dippy had always had a dark side. That he drank too much, drove too fast, and had an unhealthy obsession with guns. But no one could have predicted the events of that fateful night, or the turmoil into which the country would be thrown. The public didn?t know what to believe ? or rather, the last thing that they wanted to believe was the truth. A military coup, a Maoist attack ? any other explanation was preferable. How could they have lived with such a terrible killer in the midst and never have known? This documentary recounts the events, from massacre to royal funeral procession, and tells the story of a volatile personality who was pushed too far.

Hmmmm yes i saw it and I must say was terrible to see the blames which made me write here. Seriously how can one imagine, 30-40 bullets were slugged on each of the deceased? And the government announces that it was an accident because a "submachine-gun", which apparently was also invited to have dinner with the royals, exploded. Most ridiculous official statement, ever issued. It even beats the one published during Para's incidence. I think someone should have made the record straight. If they are buying time, it could be one of the biggest mistakes. With so many loose ends, the government should have come clean. We would live with it as the new king than living with lies. One can make several deductions to the cause. And the worst fear is, I make a prognosis, each deduction will push the country further toward anarchy.

Personally, I never trusted the royal family or the present and past Govts that have ruled Nepal. Not one individual has ever shown true desire to lead Nepal upwards. Plus, I have not forgotten the 2046 riots which resulted in the killing of civilians by the army (we have a pretty good idea which group was behind it all). Even a simple mind cannot discern how a madly drunken man can point the gun selectively towards his nearest of kins and spare Gyanendra's blood. Remember all those who got amnesty from so called Deependra's wrath were Gyanendra's wife, son, daughters, daughter in laws and his trustees. And what were dozens of people attending the party doing when Deependra firedshots at random. What were the security guards doing? Why couldn't some people ventured to die to carry on their duty to protect their liabilities? I wonder if people from other countries than Nepal can be fooled by this ridiculous explanation. I don't know how the worlds most trusted media fell on the Narayanhiti propoganda machine to make such a lopsided programme about the massacre. Those who blamed Deependra during the programme were all nervous spelling doubts about what they were saying. I wonder if they can speak the same thing again with a lie-detector. Utter lies. And the propoganda machine is trying to prove lies into truth, where the international media have assisted indirectly. God bless Deependra's soul.

While I agree that if Nepal had any kind of good forensic ability that could operate autonomously without politics, they should be using it now. However, we know that that this was planned for quite some time, not simply just a drunken shooter thing that happened. There's so much "spin" on this that I'm practically losing my balance on the other side of the world! Let's see: bodies are already cremated; no guards were in sight; son of current ruler said that he left already, then later said he begged for his life from Dipendra while Dipendra was in riot mode; no mention of exact weapon used, just generics; clampdown on media; Dipendra was not trained in guns, drunk and upset = low chance of accuracy vs high number of targets; clampdown on general rights of Nepalians when the "threat" was dead, no real fear of retaliation, nor a chance to investigate. WOW WHAT A JOKE!!!

I totally agree with Matrix. It can't be a conincident that Current ruler's entire family doesn't get a scratch when the others are entirely wiped out. How can a drunk/drugged man can target and kill all the people that are there and not stopped by anyone. This is a story that even a 10 years old will not believe and the nepalese people are keeping quiet about it. Do you guys remember the comment that a top government official made after the massacre 'Dipendra came out and dhadang, dhadang, dhadang" while giving an interview to one of the international media? These are the type of people we have in our country. Girija was the PM then and when he was ousted, he started talking about the "Grand Design". He, if he had wanted, had the full power of having a investigation commitee who could have found the truth to this incident but he did not care about anything other than the PM position. These are ridiculous than anything that a person can be that blindfolded by the power and money. .... The talks goes on and one and we know what happened but the most funniest thing about this is " Current ruler who could be the prime suspect of this was the head of the investigation team"? Could there be anything pathetic than this????
Lets hear from you all, keep rolling!

1. On friday he was at fresh and exciting mood while he visited the sports complex at Satdobato till 5:00 PM. He has encouraged the officials for the good work, and promised to come the next day 2 hour before the oficial time.No body has feeled any kind of stress and abnormality at that evening with Deependra.
2. The firing is done so severely that, the body of queen is divided to 2 piece. Her face and head was completely damaged. So there was mask instead of her face and head. Nirajan is believed to have 30 to 40 bullets while trying to save his father king birendra. The bullet is shot at central front pallet (nidhar ko tika lagaune thau najikai) to king Birendra, and almost other member's head. This indicate the shooter is professional sharp shooter.
3. The number of bullet fired is in such a huge quantity, that a single person can not solely fire so many bullet in such a short period where no other guards could protect that incident.
4. Deependra has several bullets (around 30) on his backside, some
penetrating his liver and lung, rather than his head (where suisider is believed to shot self). People think, Deependra tried to escape from the incident but finally attacked to sever injury.
5. The body of Shanti Singh was found on garden rather than the dinner room, so there may be chances of killing running after them who tried to escape.
6. Deependra has left the dinner room around 7:30, when he came back around 9:30, all other were killed already, he tried to escape, but he was shot dead. That is why he has many bullets on his back.
7. Dhirendra is not holding the royal post. In that evening, even
Dhirendra (who is declared dead yesterday) was attending the dinner, why Gyanendra was abscent?
8. The first person to come out from the palace after the incident was Paras, who also attended the dinner, but has no single hurt, how that happened?
9. In the beginning, Paras was said staying out of country, but later, not attending the dinner but in Soaltee Casino, some said not in Soaltee, but in Babylone Discotheque, later confirmed to be present in the dinner. Why so many different information circulated?
10. In that evening, 10 cooks and several other Royal worker were serving the dinner program, where they have gone? No single cook has returned to their home, neither they had made telephone call to there family members.
11. Several famous doctors, including Dr. Upendra Devkota, were taken to Chauni Barek, but they are not making any communication to family members. Are the doctors also in danger of another round of massacre?
12. Several Royal army official has not come to home since friday and has not informed to their families. If the families make inquiries, then the reply is that, they are send to foreign countries for treatement. Now the family members are worrying about the masacre of these army officials too, including ADCs of dead Royal members.
13. One helicopter has fled from Palace on friday night around 10:30 PM straight very high and then went to unknown direction with all light off. The people had seen and heard the sound of that, where that helicopter has gone, and who was inside that?
14. Several public people has heard about the incident around 10:00 - 10:30 PM of friday night, but the prime-minister Girija was informed about this only at 1:30 AM (some 4 - 5 hours later than the accident), why?
15. No postmartem was conducted on the dead royal bodies, why? The government had taken VICERA for investigation, while Madan Bhandari was dead. Why they did not do this for king and his family?
16. Why funeral process is conducted immediately, they poured water from tanker to flow cleaner water in Bagmati, and the structures were made temporarily.
17. Even the dead bodies were not handled with respect. There was no body to remove flies on the face of king. The dead body were kept on open ground without any arrangement. Whereas, the dead body of Babuchiri Sherpa was well protected and kept open for public respect for 5 days.
18. Why none of the foreign state heads and their representatives were allowed to take part? Even the notice for the higher governmental officers were issued very stupidly. The notice to attend at 3:00 PM the funeral spot with specified dresses was issued only at 3:10. Is is possible to reach at the spot at 3:00 hearing the notice at 3:10? Has every higher officers prepared the funeral dresses before the notice? otherwise how they could reach to the funeral spot immediately with specified dress?
19. Why the number of bullets were not allowed to count from the dead bodies of royal members?
20. Royal members are engaged with more than one women since long ahead, and that is not assumed as a critical issue. They can keep many wives in the form of Lyaite, byaite etc. So one external women can not be cause to death of dozens of very very important members of family and nation.
21. None of nepali has heard the fantastic story of love affairs of Deependra, but now the famous news agencies are trying to blame Divyani Rana as the cause of Royal members' masacre. Who has thought about her personal life afterward?
22. Why Dr. Rajeeb Shahi and Helen Shah are silent on these issue? It is heard that army official denied to conduct investigation, when senior police officer has proposed for that on Satureday, why?
23. Why all the international news agencies are displaying the photograph of mustachioed Deependra (with his darhi), to make an impression of bad person?
24. On the funeral of Birendra and Aisworya, Paras was not quite. His hand, foot, mouth was moving in some special ways, and many people has tried to describe ideas in his brain at that moment. Can someone behave in such a way, while his almost all family members were murdered? Can a person, who has seen the live death of several family members, with flow of blood from the all parts of body in a single room and their pain, grief movement etc, stand in such a smily and fresh manner to the public?
25. Deependra had not taken alcohol on friday evening. He never takes alcohol when he joins the dinner program with his father. He is well-known for his super respect to his father. How such person can kill his parents? These all questions and information may be useful to understand Deependra is not the killer.

I will not blame on anybody but there should have been an investigation.

One other fact, I do not remeber her name. She died in chopper crash in Rupa lake. But one of the person who survived that crash was named minister or asst. minister.

All royal histories are build upon internal fueds and therefore most of the developed countries don't have royal institutions now. Let's get rid of this institution and provide a passage to commissioning the "Comission on Royal Masaccare".

Lets analyze:

The tragic incident is on the third day...

>1. AT THE TIME OF THE MASSACRE (SHOOTING) PARAS AND HIS BROTHER IN LAW
>(unkown) WAS COMPLETELY SAFE. Source: "Kantipur daily"

>2. bullets was shot at PRINCE DEPENDRA's back bone.
> Source: "Unknown Military person"

>3. AROUND DOZENS of A.D.C has been killed by machine guns. The news is
>still not flash out.

> Source: "Unknown Military person in ARMY HOSPTIAL"
>4. People are in confusing state and looking forward tthe only answer " who
>is behind this ".

some renowned and intellectual peoples' view,
If it's a suicide case, Deepedra if he want to suicide , he can either killed some specific person not whole family .......A person can not massacre dozens, at one time unless a pre-planed game.It is not a hollywood or bollywood neither he was a professional killer .

From the above statment and many other it is clear that the truth is still to come out. These are only hypothesis and different thought that are hovering in peoples mind. Still we do not know how many people are being shot dead. Why is this being hidden?

Durbar sources and all the concern people are blamming Deepedra for the incident. Even though if this might be right ,how can a person can do such a heavy and brutal massacre. Is he mighty man or have extra power?

So we have to think very intellegently and on the other hand shouldn't create confusion to the innocient people's mind rather go for and research the truth. I really wish someday they should be be put under tight security for the investigation. This is simply not fair.

Again, Matrix is right. These hypothesis may lead the innocent people toward wrong ideas. But some very obvious concerns are:
1. How one person can kill so many people at one time where one family is totally safe?
2.Why no investigations were carried out?
3.Heard Birendra's ADC is now Gyane's ADC..... how could that happen?

I hope, one day, during our lifetime these mysteries will be solved and these questions will be answered.

Wait a minute ladies and gentlemen. Narrow-mindedness ko pani had huncha ni yaar.

I think that the the findings of the commision are very credible. I dont see any problem there. If they lied there, they have done a really good job but dont go on and make statements like ?only 10 years old will believe it?.

Now let me adress some of the issues here:

pahilo kura ta kina army hospital lageko; teaching hospital nalageko - Raja rani lai army hospital nalagera teaching hospital lagcha ta?

how could such a drunk person shoot so well? - Go and drink as much as u want; smoke some weed as well; then vomit; u will come back to your senses vomit nagaryo bhane matra ho tyo ladkhadaune. go and try it; u will know what i mean

As the first posting suggests, it was a premeditated attack. I truly think so. It was not done in a fit of rage; the bubble was waiting to explode.

Raise other issues where u have doubt.

by the way himalaya, did u type those by yourself? it doesnt look like copied and pasted from a respectbble source

Actually, I don't prefer to make such stupid comments and not so often do post in sajha threads. But I would like to make comments here regarding the view of Mahishasur. May be mahishasur's visions are nearer to Navadurga!!. (just kidding!!)

Myself being a bit experienced in Army (though have already got released of that job) would like to comment Mr mahisasur that his deemag is not in proper order. If he has any experience of handling those weapons which were used in the missacre, i would like to ask him the details about those weapons and their capacity including weight of those weapons whether a single person handle them. Do you think Dipendra was the Rambo of Hollywood?!!

Secondly, I am one of the collegue of Dipendra while in Budhnilkantha ..and had some contact (rare though) till that time. Knowing him the way I do...I just dont believe that he can shoot his own parents.

Another point is that when a man consumes alcoholic drinks he becomes more exited and aggressive but those who use brown sugar or GANJA or CHRESH seldom get any agressive. They love peace and loneliness like SADHUs of Pashupati temple.

Thanks to all, I will visit here next week.
