HUMBLE REQUEST!
'Your one minute may become a great support for us'
Cooking fuels (fire wood, kerosene and L.P. gas) are always scarce and becoming a big issue because of frequent price hiking in Nepal – no matter whether the consumers are in mountains, hills, terai or in Kathmandu valley. Everywhere, they are facing a lot of hardships in managing cooking fuels for the family. Recently, government has hiked the price of kerosene (NRs.3.55) and L.P. gas (Rs.200) making poor community even poorer. If you wish to support us to solve this problem, please vote us NOW in "COOKING WITHOUT GAS" in http://www.theworldchallenge.co.uk/2007_finalists.php to create an alternative energy source for the community from our own wastes to reduce over-dependence on forest resources and commercial fuels.
Don't forget to watch a documentary film on "COOKING WITHOUT GAS" in BBC Channel as follows:
3rd November, 2007, Saturday: 0930 GMT (Nepal time 1515)
4th November, 2007, Sunday: 0330 GMT (Nepal time 0915);
1330 GMT (Nepal time 1915); and 1830 GMT (Nepal time 2415)
6th November, 2007, Tuesday: 1830 GMT (Nepal time 2415)
If we win this prestigiuos award, it would be a great achievement of our efforts and a great pride to all Nepali community in and outside the country. I hope your votes will definitely take us to top-3.

Nepal government increased the price of gas - do you actually know why ? Do they have the ability to control price ? if so for how long ? It's not that they woke up on the wrong side of bed and changed the price of gas.
to somehow think that your project will solve the problem is very misleading. Although it makes people feel good its just limited to that.
to mislead people , so that you can get votes and win whatever prizes u are hoping for is not very good. so people just be critical when people are asking votes.

Duke you may have a point. Perhaps it's a ploy by the documentary makers to get the prize. For the rest of the nepalis, it will be as usual haat ma lagyo sunna.

it is just few examples of how big organiztion use marketing skills to promote their image. Yes ofcourse it is a good thing but shell, bbc , bp which are essentially oligipolys want you to think that they want to promote alternative energies. if they did price of oil wouldn't be that high . so don't forget the big game behind small games.
I just want to be critical. I have no problem if people vote for you. I just don't want it to be in sympathy , and or people who care - that they are not mislead.

ok duke1, don't be insane. you are just showing the typical nepali culture of pulling off the legs. Bro how many times u see when some projects from nepal reach the final competitive international stage. This moment is pride for us and thanks sanukaji for representing us ie. nepal. Duke1 bro before putting negativity on others achievement just think of yourself of what you have done till date at least representing country. I haven't done anything as such for today but i do appreciate and fully support whenever someone does tries or does.If u also reach there then we will also support you. Lets make this one success as we all did for prashant again and bro duke1 keep urs critical thinking with you only for god sake..we don't need to think critically when we know what peoples are doing. ps. sanu kaji i voted thrice..good luck and keep it up!!

Again Duke, before you make a comment, please do some research before. It is very easy to criticize and give comments to others. Until now that is the only thing you have been doing. Have you actually met Sanu Kaji Shrestha? No, well I have. I flew all the way from Europe, a trip of more than 30 hours just to meet this man. You know why? Because he was recommended by people in America and Europe. I even took my 9 year old daughter with me so she could learn about volunteering and people DOING GOOD. Something, unfortunately, a lot of young people in our society have not learned to do. It's all about me, me, me. Have you ever met the people Sanu Kaji Shrestha has helped? No, well, I have A WHOLE VILLAGE PERSONALLY!! Do you want to meet them, well go to Nepal yourself and ask around in the rural villages ! Ask the poor communities, ask the people suffering from leprosy, ask the blind people, ask the orphans, ask the handicapped, ask the neglected poor women! Unless you have spoken to them PERSONALLY, you have absolutely no right to criticize! If you don't believe me, check out the small video I made of the work of Sanu Kaji and his organization FoST. It's on Google. So please Duke, get educated and don't you dare speak bad about Mr. Sanu Kaji Shrestha, because this hardworking, dedicated selfless man deserves to be respected and he really deserves to win the World Challenge 2007. Instead of spending your time writing your nonsense go and do something innovative, something productive to HELP your country. Sandra Wijnveldt, from Holland, Europe

pakandi,
i don't live my life so that my country benefits from it, nor do i believe in anybody who claims it. if you are good first you will benefit, then your family, society and the nation. the relationship are reciprocal in nature. there are things i have done good but this thread is not about me and i don't want it be that way.

o.k. Duke, you are quite hard to learn.... Have you ever heard of "united we are stronger"? or "Alone, you only have one tiny little stone, but together we can build a mountain..." As you know I am from Holland. Well, we have our problems too, but whenever we need to stick together as a country UNITED we will be united. Have you ever seen the Olympic Games or a global sports competition, for example football (I assume you call it soccer in the States)? When our country is playing, where ever in the world, all the Dutch will be wearing orange, which is our national color. The whole stadium will be orange, the streets, the airports everywhere you will recognize the Dutch because they will ALL be wearing orange. This is to support our countrymen / sportsmen who are REPRESENTING our country. What you are doing Duke, is the same as if you would be asking the Dutch people to not wear orange, because you don't like the clothing brand. It is NOT about the clothing brand (and it's not about who organized the competition), it's about supporting your countryman who is an EXAMPLE to the rest of the world. He is REPRESENTING your country in a global competition, which will be seen by people all over the world. He is doing this in a great way and you should be proud of him.
