Happyface, I see your point that you are not a Sai devotee but your frequent capitalization of the first letters in 'His, Him' just elevates Sai Baba to godhood...Interesting indeed... I do, however, like you say, believe that there have been lots of good charity work in the name of Sai Baba which should be appreciated. Now is that the work of an organization which has undivided faith in Sai Baba or the mercy and the niceness of the controversial man himself, is a good question.

Sai Ba Ba a Saint ? ha ha ha You have got to be kidding me. Religion is man made and so are cults. If there is A god then why so many variations and killing in the name of GOD. Talking about charitable work? HE HE Osama Bin Ladden also does tons of charitable work too ...but that dun make him a Saint. Same with Bhagawan Rajneesh, he did a lot aof charitable work(along with his 365 Rolls Royces). I am not going to infringe upon yours or anyone else's belief. But it is always healthy to encourage people to question their own beliefs is it not ? Don't just blindly follow others like a Bheda in a herd.

Will watch this thingie later, but....
Didn't know that this baba had to be called Him or He, and not plain him, he.
Also I believed that one would be a Saint after death... but I guess that is only in Christianity!
So, I discern a way to sainthood here: claim immaculate conception.. (baba's mother dreams of a Hindu God, and finds herself preggy in the mornin!! Excuse me.. did I hear that somewhere else too??), dupe folks into donating their money. If not enough is donated, extort (like in that Tirupati temple). Keep what you need for the luxurious lifestyle of a billionaire, and with the remaining dough, build a few hospitals here and there. While doing so, be subtle about endorsing politicians and your devotees will vote for them (6 million and up is a substantial vote bank... the baba's followers claim an upward of 50 million followers), while the politicians and their cronies will scrounge donations that go to supplement what poor crockers cough up for a reading of their sad future. Institute layers and layers of security, and install scrutinizing posts all around you, so that you get to know the innards of a visitor's life before he gets to you. And tell him his life story right back when he is supplicating at your feet. Learn a few magic tricks, and do some "walking on water" feat. Then, you are God! There have been others too who have been guilty of this, albeit in differing measures.
This is still better than nothing, but should that make the engineer of this sinister plot with a little gain for the common man a God? Heck, no! As for the good work, there is more politics involved in it than the charity of this man. If we should really look for proof, there is a aplenty, but what would one do with that proof when faced with a stampeding horde? And an organization of that nature? It takes the law enforcement apparatus of an entire nation sometimes to come up with the power to deal with a puny mafia family... this one is a horde of powerful bigots (AB Vajpayee included) that can crush any simpleton.
btw, there is also another "saint," no?: that Satpal Maharaaj guy who became the Railway Minister later on?
Here are some stories, http://www.rickross.com/groups/saibaba.html but the baba dude instructs his followers not to be on the internet... and most blokes agree to it!

The way I see it, Bill Gates has been doing lot of good for the world through Microsoft and Gates foundation. His philanthropy's impact has been felt far and wide. Millions of people in all continents have benefitted from his giving. But if he goes around fondeling young boys or forcing them to perform oral sex on him, his ass will be in jail in no time. Wouldn't you say so?
Now I'd still say there is a chance that Sai Baba is a saint or some divine person with miraculous power. The reports and documentaries can be biased. After all, we are sort of hearing only one-sided view. But the overwhelming first-hand accounts and evidences certainly will make me think twice before I book my trip to Puttaparthi.

On second thoughts.. why the trip anyway... even if he is a God? In some years, we all are headed to see the real guy up there somewhere in a place called heaven, no? I will save the dough for that.... may be, maaaaaaay be, there is an infinitessimally small chance that it is not just worms and me after death!
But then... ehhhh naaaaah! I rather wine and dine while I can!

I grew up singing his Bhajans all my life. I never liked him nor I was too impressed with the Bibhuti trick. It's not like he made a dead man come alive. Come on, who has a hair like him in India beside, and his follower doesn't seem to find the hair a bit odd. I have many near and dear ones who still follow him like crazy. With all my effort trying to convince them that he's "NOT" god, I've finally given up. Blind faith is the worst sin. I won't say he's a cult but things needs to be more transparent at his asram and he needs to STOP being God. If you come here at Sajha, being able to use a computer at these day and age, and if you believe in a living God- a human being( literally), then you're a hypocrite. Go back to living in the caves instead. If philanthropy is the basis for his divine status, then yes of course, Bill Gates should be the bigger God than Sai Baba.

lets pray chris angel as a god just on behalf of some youtube videos.............
Had saibaba born somewhere else then india he could have been a jesus and nobody would have made these comments against him, just because he is an indian why the hell you guys have to unfold the false truth here. You do your job and let other do theirs..............
I bet none of you can distract a saibaba follower just because of this video.... .

Sai Baba is God! Dalai Lama is God!! Did we miss out anyone else? I would rather believe in the person (Not a God) shown in the video.

mr Hyde Comparing Sai Baba and Dalai Lama is like comparing a grape and a water melon. DL is well recognized, more popular throughout the world and the scope of his existence is wider than of Sai Baba. Let's start with Nobel Peace Prize, how about that? What is Sai Baba known for? How many people know him beside few in India and Nepal? Dalai Lama has never said he is GOD, it's the people worshipping him who give him the status. John Leannon is God to many people but as far I remember, he never claimed him to be God neither. Infact in every TV interview DL has always claimed "I'm a simple monk", he has never done a magic show in the public. He's a political leader for the rest of the world but for his follower, he a spiritual leader too. I'm not a religious person, but being grown up forced to worhip Sai Baba, I hated him and if given a chance to pick between Sai Baba and Dali Lama, I'll choose Dalai Lama any day.
