Hi, The company that offer me is not e-verified. They say they will file my H-1 on april. Can I still get H-1 even the company is not e-verified? I think it only needs to be e-verified for OPT extension, if i am correct. Am I right?

the company need not be e-verified to sponsor H1. Only if ur H1 got rejected and u need to apply OPT extension for 17 months, then the company should be e-verified at that moment to be eligible for your OPT extension.

WASHINGTON— Federal contractors and subcontractors will be required to begin using the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ E-Verify system starting September 8, 2009, to verify their employees’ eligibility to legally work in the United States.
Can I work with non-e verified company for 1 year OPT if I dont plan on extending it? Above paragraph seems to say all consultancies need to be e-verified. Please help on this matter.
thanks

Those apply for federal contractors and sub contractors only. If your office is federal contractor which you can ask them, then it shud be e-verified. Not all offices are federal contractor. Contract means any Government contract or subcontract or any federally assisted construction contract or subcontract.
