This is what the newly appointed NEA Chief had to say:

"I am a Thakuri. We are a closely knit community. It is natural for me to have close relations with people who have close relations with the royal family," he said, declining to pinpoint who he is exactly related to. (TKP 1 November)

It only confirms that all appointments have got to do with either caste bias or nepotism, nevermind the ability, experience and fairness. Most educated people already have a caste based network. The same goes in the bureacracy.

This leaves people who have no network, no one to fall on to and no support. The government is simply based on a caste hierarchy, regardless of which government. The Maoists have successfully taken advantage of this continuing deficiency in the government to motivate to recruit so called volunteers for their movement.

Damn it, I look at the current reshuffling of secretaries. Look at the names of the ambassadors. For many ethnic groups, the saying --- "Kaagla bell pakyo harsha na bishmat". Who does the Nepal belong to?? Only the people from a few castes?? What happened to other ethnic groups? There are NO capable persons to be appointed??

I check every appointment the government makes. It is all based on caste bias or caste network. Those who do not fall within certain caste or ethnic groups and do not have the advantage of the network have been left out.

The more the educated people, whether they live in New York, Los Angeles, Delhi, London or Germany, more caste oriented. Why so? Because that is how many, I say many, have climbed up the ladder ---taking a step somewhere in their life. Thus, the caste bias alwlays remains in their minds ---no matter how he or she presents outwardly.
Harish is one typical example of it.

Lau aba desh ko bikash ra pragati chhadera afnai ra afno jaatko pragati tira laagnosh.

Nepal ama, my heart cries for you. Why such a treatment to some of your children??
It is a sad sad thing. Not many who browse in Sajha will admit outwardly, but they know
it in their heart of hearts that a democracy is not what they call as democracy, and they are numbed and dumbed to bring their voice against it.
