dear sajha buddies,

now m goin through serious problem. if i dont find out a gud way then i may b out of f1 status. actually i planned to transfer to northlake college from university at ohio. i sent all my documents to that college few months back. finally yesterday i got an information that due to my gpa was below 2 i was not accepted at that college. i didnt knew about my gpa since my university directly send my official transcript to nothlake college. currently m workin at maryland. i dont have ny relatives in usa. cud not make enough money for my university. jus have few hundred dollars wid me. i had book an appartment in irving also. and even i do have my plane ticket to dalls on august 18.

now m completly pissed off. dont know what to do. cant even go back to university cause i dont have money. now dallas county college also did not accepted me. dont have anybody around here. n even more than that i dont have much money currently. i dont want to be out of status. tust me m not that worst student also. due to some problems i was not able to get gud gpa.  i have few of my frens at irving so i was plannin to live wid them and try to find out a way for a better life.

please help me! ur suggestion n help may lead me towards my better future. plzzzz.....

The only way you can hang in, in this case is that u go back to the uni you came from .... Find money somehow or ask your uni for installment payments. But if you miss this..... Its a disaster .. there is no other way. Hurry and ACT.

I agree with aarigato that you should go to university where u came from. If you did not then you will be out of status.  All blame goes to you and only you because you were not serious about this matter and you took it lightly that you can transfer to North Lake easily as you also had some friends. I don't understand how come you got very low GPA(2.0)  in the first semester in which most of the courses are general eds. Now you have to face the consequence. You should return to University and convince your parents to send you money telling them the truth. They will get mad but they are your parents so eventually they will send you some money. Convince them that you need money now and you will return them when you graduate. This is really critical situation and you have to face it because of your negligence. You also learned the lesson.

I also had the similiar problem where I was short of money but I had good GPA.  I convinced my parents to send me money and I went to community college for 2 years and finally now I am back in University and will be graduating within a year.

LIFE IS NOT EASY AS IT SOUNDS. SHIT HAPPENS AND YOU HAVE TO FACE IT.

  I am a regular viewer of sajha.com.Its been more than a year but I havenot replied to any of the post.BUt since you are in a serious problem I want to suggest something.The best thing is to go back to the same university borrowing some money from your friends or from nepal.The other thing you can do is join the kaplan for some english course and they will give you I-20 for atleast 6 months and it will cost around 1800 .I guess you are ready to pay that amount since you are trying to go to northlake college.If you join kaplan you have to be there at the kaplan center for atleast 20 hrs a week rest of the time you can work.I think this will be the best solution.

Since u are already in Maryland. Apply to Baltimore community college in Baltimore. Here is what u need to do. Since now u know ur GPA is horrible. Apply to BCC as a fresh student with ur credentials from Nepal. I bet you they will definitely accept u. Once u get accepted, ask ur univ in Ohio to release sevis to BCC. Do it ASAP, fall semester will start soon. This was u don have to go back to Ohio and be around Maryland. Ohio sucks anyways but u missed out on Dallas though. Goodluck with everything and keep us posted though.

I wonder why folks even come here to the US and study if they are gonna get anything below a 3.0 GPA.  Who da F would even hire someone with a 2.9 GPA??  Man, if you're not gonna get good grades, why even bother wasting your time studying since you'd never ever get a decent job here (unless you go back to Nepal where nepotism and favoritism still rules).  BTW, If your education ever did teach you something, then do not forgo your opportunity costs of a time well spent having fun instead of sloggin it out in class (or rather sleeping in class). 

Listen, all ya cats with too much money to burn, there just ain't no second chance for adults.  I know of a lotta folks back home who are dying for a chance to get here (some with I-20s being denied a visa) and here on the other end of the spectrum we have nincompoops who do not know how fortunate they have it.  Below a 2.0 GPA??  And you say that your college sent the college that rejected you your old transcripts?  Dude, that is the case in ALL colleges you'd transfer into unless you use the other method as someone above cited: apply as a freshman. 

My suggestion for you would be to quit your studies and just work your azz off illegally if you're gonna continue the same pattern where you'd work 60 hours a week and try to go to school full-time.  Why kill yourself doing that.  Just keep working only as that would atleast be a head-start into your profession (rather than waste another 6-8 yrs in graduating judging by your extremely poor grades).
