We need input from those who have had first hand experience working with her. Even I have heard not so flattering stories about her but till there are people here who can lay down facts to support such claim, it's all rumours.

Can't agree with "onlyassignments" more. It's wrong to vote for her just because she is Nepali, unless you think she is truly deserving of the title regardless of the nationality.

Back biting and pulling each other is easy guys! building an empire takes a lot. Some of you think Babu Ram is a hero, some you think Prachanda or some you think Prachanda, some you think the great Gagan is a hero..who have done nothing to the society? but when it comes to acknowledging  who is doing even a bit of social service you are displaying your sick mentality. I know some of you also know Mother Teresa personally. I am not sure anuradha will become hero or not, I am 100% sure you guys will be zero..take that from me!

Well, Geology Tiger, We do need to stop these immoral behaviors, I am with you there.

But doesn't it take two to tango? The lady in question was definately a party in the dance.

Or maybe she is "Robin Hood Koirala".

Okay. Let me put it bluntly.

1. To those making claims that Koirala is a crook: Provide hard facts or stop making such allegations.

2. To those who will not even hear a word against Koirala: Have an open mind...

Yati bhandai mera antim dui sabda yo dhago ko lagi...

Terobaaje, I agree with you except for that rhetoric, "Nepaliharu ko bani yestai ho." C'mon, I've heard it millions of times and each time coming from none other than nepali. So, have you done research on other culture to justify that only Nepalese do this and that??

Anyways, sticking to the point, I agree that it is wrong to drag anybody down just by heresay. This happens everywhere (not just in Nepal), but let's rise above it and support her..at the minimum don't degrade her unless you find a proof against her.

onlyassignments, would we have a discussion here is she was not a Nepali? Would we care? Frankly, NO. Would a Japanese care that a Nepali person is there? Many of the personalities over there will get vote because 1) they can relate to that person 2) they think the person has done something good. We relate to Anuradha Koirala because she is a Nepali, I don't find anything wrong with that. Remember, this poll is being done for recognition; i.e. another more "deserving" person losing to Anuradha wouldn't mean that person's charity will dry out. So what's wrong with that???

since this is a Nepali forum I meant that for nepali only, and do agree that other countries have that nature too.well bro I didnt mean to generalize all Nepali people by one statement although it sounds like it but you know I meant that for those haters out there who has nothing but complain without any hard facts but just hear say. i do agree with you though.

TB bro, I know what you're saying and I am guilty of doing the same. It was more a statement for others because it annoys the heck out of me when someone blames Nepali society when they are part of their society themselves.

I do care, I have been watching CNN Heroes for last 2 yrs and good people have won it, I am not saying Anuradha Koirala is bad but I did hear bad things from my friend who was her student and know her different stages it definitely counts as negative for me. All I am saying is lets get beyond the race or nationality, Lets crown the most deserving person who is making real difference in the lives of people. If you guys think Anuradha Koirala is that person then so be it.

you all need to vote, for the sake of those girls who are trafficked to india for prostitution, if not for  Anuradha koirala. her winning will help recognize the problem with nepal and kind of things happen in india.

so please vote.

GOD BLESS AMERICA
GOD BLESS NEPAL!

No one is perfect. I am sure Ms. Koirala has made a lot of mistakes and has done more than a few things that others might perceive unsuitable for someone of her stature ( Anuradha Koirala is in many ways a Mother Teresa like figure in Nepal). But the bottom line is no one can dispute the fact that she has done a lot of good. She has helped rescue a lot of girls and rehabilitate them. I , a non-contributing zero who has never helped rescue even 1 girl, would feel ashamed to criticize Ms. Koirala. Having said that, if someone thinks there is a better cause and a more deserving person then they should be free to vote for that person. Just 'coz Ms. Koirala is a Nepali doesn't mean we have to vote for her. This award is about humanity it has nothing to do with nationality.

If you want to be altruistic and vote for the best deserving person to be a CNN hero, go right ahead. No one is stopping you because the rest of the folks are deserving as well. But if you have a little bit of nationalism, you would vote for Anuradha. The fact that she is Nepali makes her more deserving of your vote, because you are Nepali as well. It is a about national pride and also it is for the sake of the our girls that are being trafficked from their homes and being sold to brothels.

Mrs. Koirala may have her vices, but what she has done for those girls by herself is far more than what many of us have done, or will ever do. She has my vote, because to me, she is a Hero.

One more time...just coz its shiny don't mean its diamond. Some one was saying its coz of jealousy, jealousy of what? She was given an opportunity to do great things. She was given millions and millions of dollars as a charity for the good cause. This is the sad part, if you use medicine to cure an illness, thats a great thing, but if you misuse it...you do the math. And here she 100% misusing it.

At the end of the day, no one is stopping you to vote for her or anyone. I am just giving my input out here of things what I know like everyone else. Jealousy...backbiting...thats what you guys say when someone speaks out or says things that you don't wanna hear.

Have you heard in the news that her branch was selling those girls back? Are you guys even in nepal? have you seen how the kids are being beaten.

Here the victims are the kids and if you don't believe me, THESE PEOPLE ARE HER MONEY MAKING MACHINE.  And yeah, about her son, she can't even take care of her own son, how would she take care of others?

Again, at the end of the day, no one is stopping to vote her and there is no backbiting or jealousy. You might think it is just coz you don't want to hear it.
