I know there are 2-3 threads already on this topic but my question is slightly different.

I don't have my original birth certificate. I'm having trouble getting one made in Nepal.

One thread said the one issued by the embassy is not valid. There is no information regarding this on the Nepal embassy website.

How suggestion do you have to get the birth certificate? Again, I'm having trouble getting one done in Nepal so something I can do from the US would be great.

Go to your ward office with your Citizenship and have them made one. They will probably know what to do but it should include the following:
Your Full Name
Date of birth
Place of birth
Names of both parents

Also see the following links:

Good luck.

As Jonny said, you can go to your ward office and get your birth certificate from there. They have standard format which has English and Nepali version in same paper. I did in KTM so not sure if it is same for other places. One of my friend had hand written letter from VDC secretary and he said that worked for him as well (he translated and notarized from notary office in KTM I guess).

Also, once I got my birth certificate, I attested the documents by sending it to Nepalese embassy in DC (Keep in mind they might take >3 weeks to send you back your documents)

Good luck

What do you mean by upload? it's not like you will be making one per sample upload. Each municipality or VDC will have a standard preprinted birth certificate in their letterhead where the details of a person will be handwritten in the corresponding blank spaces of the certificate and is then dated and signed by the designated officer along with the stamp.

ny2: I think for english birth certificate we can choose the wording and content which will be printed in the letterpad of VDC/municipality.

While you can make the certificate the way you want if you have links to VDC/municipality, but the US immigration system knows about birthe certificate in Nepal. So i suggest you make one as it is the way any VDC/municipality provides and translate it to English.

If you look at the birth certificate part, toward the end it says the birth certificate is in printed form where birth info are handwritten.

yes the number of quotas available for EB2 ROW are full for this year and it is going to be like this till the end of this year. I think the beginning of next year it is going to be current. you may see similar retrogression in EB3 in few months too so you better do 140 PP and apply for I485 soon.
