Footyfan is wrong here. Samikshya do not ever go for a used car of year around 08-10 or so. You can get a brand new with 1-2 grand more. Toyota has 1k rebate offer for grad students and 0% interest in new cars. I drive a toyota and it's not that bad. Either one is good. So go for anyone.

If you are buying New car go for old models like 2007 :) That's what i have and trust me it's worth it . Not being biased about Toyota but i had it for a month or so had to return cause i didn't liked it .

Both of the options are good.. But I prefer Honda and I suggest you to go for 05-07 models.

If you buy honda/toyota then don't buy new one , it is expensive.you will be stuck on payment . if you buy used model of 2005 /2006 then it would be better. it will be less expensive with less mileage. Thank you.

Nalapani, it appears that you're a 'victim' that fell for the lucrative trap and you're consoling yourself by advising Sami against buying a used Honda.
Fyi, a car isn't a long-term asset. Any mechanical/machine/electrical item loses its value at the rate of none as soon as its sold. I wonder what model you're talking about when you said that a Brand new car only costs 1-2 grand more. A brand new car comes with a hefty sum (monthly payment) to go with a higher auto insurance premium. I'd NEVER buy a brand new car. But at the same time, I wouldn't go for old, beat-up vehicles either. 2007-2009 are the best fits - Durable, significantly affordable, efficient and sleep, too!

No footyfan....your conclusion about me is premature. Last week I visited almost 7 dealers in colorado for my friend and knew the situation about the used car of year around 8-10. So, I am sharing my exp here.

I wouldn't go for none if 'em. Sure, they have an excellent resale value & mileage but hey, lately American cars aren't behind. Don't think about thOse German luxurious cars if your salary isn't atleast 80k per year. Go over 70 mph on highway in those Japs & American vehicles, you'll find a difference.

Brand new cars come with zero interest vs used cars with some % interest. So in the end you will pay the same amount for a brand new 2011 car and a used 2008 car if you calculate your payments. So, if you r going to buy a 2007-2010 model, get a zero mileage brand f((king new. Get it?
